By Tram
Docklands is located in the Free Tram Zone.
Catch the free City Circle Tram or take one of the following Tram 70 or 75

By Train
Southern Cross Station – Spencer Street is Melbourne’s main rail interchange for suburban, regional and interstate trains, located right on Docklands’ doorstep.
Exit at the northern end of the station and walk across the Bourke Street Pedestrian Bridge (via the Marvel Stadium concourse), to Harbour Esplanade. You can also exit the station on the corner of Spencer and Collins streets, and walk across the Collins Street bridge to Docklands Park.

By Car
There is very limited street parking available in Docklands, and the area does become heavily congested with traffic. Parking is available in paid car parks or via limited on-street parking.

By Water
Marina berthing Marina access is easy from Port Phillip Bay. There are four Docklands marinas offering public berthing for day trippers, overnighters or for extended stays.
There is a ferry service between Portarlington and Docklands. Check Port Phillip Ferries for schedules.

By Foot
Pedestrian access from the CBD is a simple, via the Bourke Street Pedestrian Bridge, Collins Street or the Webb Bridge from Southbank will take you there.

The Now or Never Art Trail Curator tour on Sunday 20 August at 7.30pm will be Auslan interpreted.

Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Scheme
Now or Never will be incorporating the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower scheme assisting those with hidden disabilities. People who need assistance can wear a Sunflower symbol so trained staff can offer help. Email nowornever@melbourne.vic.gov.au to pre-order your sunflower lanyard or collect one City of Melbourne Tourism Hubs at Melbourne Town Hall, Bourke Street Mall, Fitzroy Gardens and Queen Victoria Market or from the Art Trail Info Booth (located at the Victoria Harbour Promenade Docklands) during the festival.

Traffic, Parking and Access Changes

To enable the delivery of Now or Never, a road closure, bike and pedestrian lane changes as well and Docklands Harbour exclusion zone will be in place. Please see below for full details.

Merchant Street:

Between Hubbuck Ln to Victoria Harbour Promenade from 8am Tuesday 15 August to Tuesday 22 August (24hrs)

Merchant Street:

Between Bourke Street to Victoria Harbour Promenade from Thursday 17 August to Sunday 20 August (16:00 to 23:59*)

Sailmaker Way:

Between Collins Street & Victoria Harbour Promenade from 8am Tuesday 15th of August to 5pm Tuesday 22nd of August (24hrs)

Collins Street:

Local Access Only between Tomb Thunb Lane and North Wharf Road from Thursday 17 August to Sunday 20 August (16:00 to 23:59*)

*Indicative time – Roads will reopen as soon as it is safe to do so

FAQs

Where is the entrance?
Entrance to the event is via Harbour Esplanade (near the Central Pier Pontoon).

What if it is raining?
As an outdoor event, Now or Never Art Trail is subject to the elements and will go ahead in most weather conditions including rain. If the conditions present a danger to patrons or staff, such as heavy rain or electrical storm, we will communicate via Now or Never’s social media channels.

What ages is the Now or Never Art Trail for?
All ages are welcome.

Are toilets and baby change facilities available?
There are toilet and accessible toilet facilities as well as baby change facilities. See the map at the top of the page for their locations.
