Museums Victoria is the Major Partner, Official Precinct Partner and Foundation Partner for Melbourne’s newest festival Now or Never. The Melbourne Museum Plaza bursts into life for Now or Never with a tantalising whole-of-precinct program fusing art, ideas, sound and technology. You’ll be lured into a world of curiosity, wonder and discovery with a celebration of National Science Week, a &#8220;Melbourne Planetarium Presents&#8221; program in the Neversphere, a special Future Forums edition, and unique exhibitions and events as part of the inaugural festival. The World Heritage listed Royal Exhibition Building will also fling back its doors, filling the magnificent space with a program of nighttime dance, RnB, hip hop and clubbing. While on site, make sure you also visit the fabulous Fantastic Beasts™: The Wonder of Nature exhibition on at Melbourne Museum, direct from the National History Museum in London and other great exhibitions on during this time.

Founded in 2010 in Melbourne by brothers Josh and Jake Uljans and school mate Karl van Buuren, Moon Dog began with a lil’ brewery in the back streets of Abbotsford, with the trio brewing beer in a brew house welded together from ex-dairy equipment and selling mind-blowing craft beer from the back of a ‘97 Volvo V40 station wagon.
More than a decade later, we’ve made some upgrades to the equipment, we’ve expanded our brewery into Preston, we’ve opened two brew pubs and our Moon Dog family has grown and grown, but one thing has stayed the same-brewing outrageously delicious beers and seltzers that blow minds is what it’s all about!

Nestled in the picturesque Goulburn Valley, Mitchelton Winery is a luxurious and relaxing destination that offers visitors a unique and unforgettable experience. Home to award-winning wines, the winery boasts an onsite Cellar Door where visitors can indulge in wine-tasting. Melbourne’s genre-defying contemporary dance company Chunky Move brings you NON_TA_Response, a reimagining of components of Antony Hamilton’s 2019 major work Token Armies. In Token Armies, a movement language was constructed from the dialogue between living creatures and material objects. Central to the choreographic research is a fascination with how tools and machines inform human movement. This involves looking at realities and fictions that consider past, present and future demands for cooperation between biological and technological systems.
NON_TA_Response places elements of the Token Armies universe into the public realm that separates the postmodern Denton Corker Marshall-designed Melbourne Museum building (2001) and the Italianate World Heritage Melbourne Exhibition Building (1880). This work creates a point of visual interference between these two iconic buildings, considering the long passage of time that separates them in their design, construction and cultural significance.
The performance continues to explore a dramaturgy around the relationship between biology and technology, and the uncanny connections and dissonances between the living and the inanimate.
NON_TA_Response will be a free, outdoor performance.
