Museums Victoria is the Major Partner, Official Precinct Partner and Foundation Partner for Melbourne’s newest festival Now or Never. The Melbourne Museum Plaza bursts into life for Now or Never with a tantalising whole-of-precinct program fusing art, ideas, sound and technology. You’ll be lured into a world of curiosity, wonder and discovery with a celebration of National Science Week, a &#8220;Melbourne Planetarium Presents&#8221; program in the Neversphere, a special Future Forums edition, and unique exhibitions and events as part of the inaugural festival. The World Heritage listed Royal Exhibition Building will also fling back its doors, filling the magnificent space with a program of nighttime dance, RnB, hip hop and clubbing. While on site, make sure you also visit the fabulous Fantastic Beasts™: The Wonder of Nature exhibition on at Melbourne Museum, direct from the National History Museum in London and other great exhibitions on during this time.

Founded in 2010 in Melbourne by brothers Josh and Jake Uljans and school mate Karl van Buuren, Moon Dog began with a lil’ brewery in the back streets of Abbotsford, with the trio brewing beer in a brew house welded together from ex-dairy equipment and selling mind-blowing craft beer from the back of a ‘97 Volvo V40 station wagon.
More than a decade later, we’ve made some upgrades to the equipment, we’ve expanded our brewery into Preston, we’ve opened two brew pubs and our Moon Dog family has grown and grown, but one thing has stayed the same-brewing outrageously delicious beers and seltzers that blow minds is what it’s all about!

Nestled in the picturesque Goulburn Valley, Mitchelton Winery is a luxurious and relaxing destination that offers visitors a unique and unforgettable experience. Home to award-winning wines, the winery boasts an onsite Cellar Door where visitors can indulge in wine-tasting. An immersive art intervention of sound healing, projection art, guided meditation, and collective rest led by Nap Bishop, Tricia Hersey.
‘The body is a site of liberation’ is the second tenet of the Rest is Resistance framework, and the inspiration for An Uprising of Dreams.
Immersed in sound, moving image, and guided meditation, Tricia Hersey invites us into the ‘Dream Space’ stolen by grind culture’s constant need for labour. The experience proves that rest is not a luxury, but a human right and a deliberate rebuking of the oppressive structures that are snatching our humanity.
The Nap Ministry is founded on justice, a politics of refusal, and deprogramming from the hustle that capitalism and white supremacy demands. An Uprising of Dreams is resistance in action, a chance to connect with the wisdom of our bodies in a place of slowness and care.
In addition to this intervention, Hersey will also be delivering a <a href="https://nowornever.melbourne.vic.gov.au/event/rest-is-resistance-keynote-by-tricia-hersey-of-the-nap-ministry" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rest is Resistance: Keynote</a> on Saturday 26 August.
The Uprising of Dreams installation will be available to experience on Sunday 20 August 11am – 4pm, Monday 21 – Thursday 24 August 10am – 5pm. Free entry, no booking required.
